A little french weirdness. Happy Memorial day weekend. Drink some beer, eat a wiener, and play with dangerous little rockets (which are now legal in the Mitten). God bless America.

Never Gonna Give You Up

No, you're not gonna be "Rick Rolled" or fuckin' whatever. I have a problem with The Black Keys, whereas I used to listed to them til' I barfed, then they got huge and I could barely comprehend why. This is a great Jerry Butler cover. Dig that blown out fuzzy guitar. Le sigh.

The Forest Is Full Of Ghosts

My favorite part is "Night". People tend to get weird in the woods- we're just children with animal heads and bb guns and booze.

And He Don't Care

I wished I had found this a bit earlier. This is for my dear brother. The introduction to the concert should describe, more eloquently, what I had meant to explain about the recording/live-techniques.

I should also add that I've never been a fan of The Beatles early work (I understand that may seem blasphemous to some, but I preferred their day-glo LSD mind-trippin' catalog), though I've always carried a tremendous respect for it. The Carpenters version
of "Ticket To Ride" hits home for me. The tempo change at the end of the chorus. The fucking tempo change. Christ on a bike.
It slays me so hard.

I know it's not cool to like The Carpenters, but I don't care. There's something about Karens: Karen Carpenter. Karen Peris of The Innocence Mission. And my sweet, wonderful Mother, Karen Skelly. How I love you all.
